Here is a better date 1914-D Lincoln Cent in the wholesome grade of XF45.  Early Lincolns were work horses and saw so much circulation that the opportinity for damage was high, or being adversely cleaned before putting in an album back in the day.  This example instead shows XF wear with a nice chocolate patina and no detractions.  Prices for better date Lincolns like this one scale up quickly - PCGS retail price for 45 is $1050, 45+ is $1450 and in 50 is $1700.  CAC retail for 45 is $1250, and $2000 for a 50.  So XF45 offers strong value when the example is of this quality.
