Here is another key date 1909-S VDB penny in MS64RD.  And, it is in a PCGS Old Green Holder, meaning the Red has been stable for many decades.  This is as spectacular of an example of this legendary coin as one would imagine one should be in an OGH.  A luster bomb, no major detractions, well struck with very clear date and VBD.  What you don’t see is Mr. Lincoln flashing the thumbs up sign with his right hand, nor the wink with his left eye because he knows that in this case, he is as cool as can be and more than worthy of the holder he is in.  He asked me the other day, why am I not in a 65 holder?  I had to explain to him that back in the early 90s, the grading standards were much higher than today and if he wanted to risk it, we could send him into PCGS and try to upgrade.  He then said nah, I like this old holder, its like an old Ford with classic lines.  I said yay!
