1866-S Liberty Seated Quarter, PCGS F12
S-Mint Liberty Seated Quarters were minted first in 1855 and produced off and on until the series ended in 1891. Those produced in the 1850s and 1860s are, simply put, exceptionally uncommon. To find examples that meet CAC expectations even more so. Here we offer an 1866-S in F12. The CAC/CACG population for this date is 19. This is the only one in F12. There are 2 in F15, 2 in VF20, 4 in VF25, 3 in VF35, and 1 in AU53. That's it for CACed examples in ≥F12. This example has exactly the type of wholesome, original surfaces, with smooth wear and no major hits that is unusual for a coin that was in extensive circulation, and thus can meet CAC standards. Just an uber pq Fine quarter that are often available.
This coin is approved by CAC.
