The last of this group in Cool Coin Showcase #9 is a classic Liberty Seated With Arrows Half Dime in PCGS AU55.  Another 'wow' coin, which a friend described it in hand as having a myriad of colors.  Yup,  a vibrant colorful skin on this mid-AU grade With Arrows Half Dime - name a color and it is probably there.  Silky luster reaches out underneath the toning when rotating under the light.  Multiple die clashes on the reverse adds panache to this gorgeous half dime.  There are likely only a handful extant 1853 half dimes in AU with this kind of amazing toning.  The skin reminds us of the kind of toning that the famous  E.P. Newman-Col. Green set of coins have that Heritage auctioned about a decade ago. These had all been stored in little manilla envelopes for many decades.  Perhaps this one had a similar history.
