1836 Classic Head Quarter Eagle, Block 8
This wholesome 1836 Classic Head Quarter Eagle, Block 8, is in a PCGS XF40 holder. It is the die marriage HM-1. This example has rich, deep merigold and apricot toning as an original gold piece from this era should have, with just honest wear. The majority of these have been dipped and banged up and are just downright ugly. Finding quality, strong for the grade Classic Head Quarter and Half Eagles in all grades is a true challenge. We constantly scan the web and when at shows, the bourse, looking for examples of this quality. Frequently, as like just last week, I ordered 2 when they had just popped up on another website but I was 5 minutes late and they were gone. That is how much the demand is for original Classic Head Quarter and Half Eagles in all grades when they meet the expectations of CAC. They get snapped up quickly. Not surprisingly, the price guides just keep going up for these and even so, are rapidly out of date. Needless to say we absolutely love this coin and are always on the hunt for more with CAC quality.
This coin is approved by CAC.
