1818 Quarter, PCGS VF35
We sold 53 Bust Quarters that were in our possession since starting Desert Moon Numismatics in April, 2024. Most of them were CAC, which are very hard to come by. Since this original starting inventory, we have acquired no new bust quarters. Until now. We are pleased to have acquired 5 Large-Size Capped Bust Quarter newps at the ANA WFOM. Two sold within 5-15 minutes of acquisition. The other 3 are now here on our list. This is the first one, an 1818 in VF35. It is the B2 die marriage and easily identified by the die crack above Miss Liberty in the obverse field. There are 245, 1818 Bust Quarters that are CAC/CACG for the B2 to B10 (nine) die marriages, meaning a few to maybe 20 for each marriage depending on its rarity. B1, the 1818/5 is considered separately in their pops. For VF35, there are 12, and 14 in XF40 for all 9 marriages. So within that grade range, maybe 5 are B2. That means they are not offered very often as most are in strong hands.
This example meets all of the metrics for a VF35 crusty and original coin. Mostly grey patina with some hints of ochre, no major hits or detractions, dirt surrounding devices. A coin that just has not been messed with and thus a perfect VF35 coin. They just are not around much at all with these qualities.
This coin is approved by CAC.
