Here is an 1802/1 Draped Bust Half Eagle in PCGS AU58.  It is the BD-8 die marriage considered to be R4.  This example has an apricot orange tone likely acquired over many decades with proper storage.  No evidence of planchet adjustment marks that plague many gold pieces from this era, no major detractions, and just a (maybe) rub away from being MS62.  Luster abounds when rotating under the light.  This example is one the most eye appealing, pq, AU58s for this issue and date that we have seen.
