FUN Round #2
Hi Folks,
Happy Super Bowl Weekend! Here is round #2 of the newps primarily from the FUN Show. We have 16 new and cool coins to offer here and please go to the inventory page to peruse them. We still have quite a few to get on the site, and we will do that over the next month. This will include several Cool Coin Showcases, and one Newsletter presenting a whole bunch of gold coins. Please stay tuned for that.
In terms of the numismatic market, I know I have said it before, but it remains nuclear hot. We watched gold and silver bullion prices plumet last week. Gold went from a high close of $5355 on January 29th, to a close of $4653 pm February 2nd. That is a 15% drop. The silver drop was even worse with a >30% drop. Usually the appeal of numismatic coins goes lock step in tandem with bullion prices. However, gold is already coming back with a steady increase in price. Silver has not recovered. Talk of manipulated metal markets is of course rampant on the web, and there is probably some truth to that. In either case, based on current auctions, at least high-quality coins of the type I follow and bid on, are still commanding premiums above stated retail values. So how bullion activity is related to numismatic activity, one should look over longer periods than a week to assess. There are still so many new collectors that the dynamic has changed between the relationship of bullion and numismatic coins it seems.
As the last reminder, please check out the Desert Moon Archive:
You can click on the Archives tab under More and see many of the coins we have been selling. Once in, you can click on a coin and an enlarged image will come up of the coin. Pretty cool app and it displays our accurate images. Nothing wrong with that as we are proud of our product and please enjoy it.
As stated above we have 16 Newps to present this week, and as noted above, many more to come over the next few weeks. Please keep a watch out for them. Some of the newps are shown below.
Please email us at desertmoonnm@yahoo.com if you are interested in any of our offerings.
Thanks for reading!
Best, DM
