FUN Show Inventory

One of 60 Newps at the Desert Moon Table (#334) at the FUN Show next week.
One of 60 Newps at the Desert Moon Table (#334) at the FUN Show next week.

Hi Folks,

Happy New Year.  It’s that Pre FUN Show week.  Here at Desert Moon we have been diligently preparing during the week in between a severe bout of Vertigo that started last Saturday.  Here we are 6 days later and it is now reduced to where I only ‘wobble’ abit when standing and walking.  5 days ago, I could not move my head without a sloshy dizzy feeling and it I tried to stand up, if I did not grab something I was on the ground lickety-split.  So that is good as I am almost back to normal function.  On Tuesday the Doc analyzed me and came up with a prognosis that it was likely resulting from a clogged Eustachian tube.  This is a canal that runs from the middle ear to the sinuses.  When your ears pop, that is where the air is coming from – through your nose, through the E-tube, and out your ear.  So I have been doped up since with various recommended meds and it seems to be working.  There are slow improvements every day and I am now confident I will make it to FUN (whew!).  So if you see me wobbling at FUN, no I haven’t had too many spirits over the Holidays (none this week, except a sip of champagne NYE, LOL), just recovering from a looooong dizzy spell............

Speaking of FUN, I just did a tally of our inventory I will be bringing.  As mentioned earlier, I have been saving up cool coins for my table.  I just counted 60 coins that I have not listed on our Desert Moon website (including one purchased today), most of which are to be first unveiled at the show and most are uber fresh and uber cool.  A few will be so fresh that I am picking them up at the show then boom!, right to the display cases.

Here is abit of tantalizing highlights (not all....) on what we have for newps for the cases at FUN:

  •       At ANA I had 32, prime for the grade VF to XF CACed Barber Quarters. All but two sold, the last 2 then sold on the website the week after ANA.  For FUN, in addition to 4 cool and colorful MS BQ’s, I have 16 VF35 to AU58 CACed examples.  These come from the same set as the previous ones.  All are low CAC pop for the grade coins that given the cost to sticker at CAC, are very likely to not increase in pop.  They were carefully handpicked with the goal of acquiring super strong, no problem coins for their grade.

  • 19 Draped and Capped Bust Quarters including 11 newps.  All newps are CAC and grade from VG10 to AU55 and represent 11 different dates.  These are from a group of 15 that a collector sold me (4 already placed from want lists), that like the Barber Quarters, were carefully picked to build his set.  Just a delightful group for sure.

  • Two drop dead gorgeous Matte Proof Lincolns CACed.  I hand-picked these from a group of 8 and I think I obtained two of the best of this set.

  • Various old-holdered and new-holdered CACed type coins in copper, silver, and gold.

  • Branchmint Quarter, Half, and Full Eagle early gold!  All CACed and with nice little mintmarks we love so much.

  • And 2 CAC-gold stickered coins in OGH that are severely under-graded.  I have 6 of these, but only releasing 2 at this time.  Nevertheless, wowza coins for sure, one silver, one gold..............

In addition, I will have a helper from time to time at the table.  Those who frequent the PCGS Forums know him as @Catbert.  So please come by to say hello to both of us. And it you have cool coins to sell, please show them to me - I am buying.

Our Table is #334 about half way back and to the left as you enter the monstrous bourse:

Desert Moon Numismatics table #334 at the FUN Show - go left from the Main Entrance and about halfway back in the bourse.

And finally, check out the Desert Moon Archive!  I finally figured out how to create a gallery with the software provided by my web host.  Yippee:

So now you can click on the 'Archives' tab under 'More' and see many of the coins we have been selling.  Once in, you can click on a coin and an enlarged image will come up.  Pretty cool app and it displays our high resolution images.  Nothing wrong with that as we are proud of our product and please enjoy it.

Please email us at desertmoonnm@yahoo.com if you are interested in any of our offerings.

Thanks for reading!

Best, DM
